Whatever the future holds

At the start of the year, I envisioned this as "The Year of Getting Stuff Done", with all the lovely sayings and whatnots... but really didn't go into it full-out, or at least, how I had it imagined. Then, came the tumult. Busted Achilles tendon. 'Lost' summer of sorts. Potential career upheaval. Assorted other goings-on of variable levels of importance. But then, at some point, initiative and ambition returned. It's still a process, but one has to persevere in all facets. The year will get relabeled, most certainly. The good news is that at least part of it held firm in the end. Onward, ever upward.

A Quick History

I’ve been involved with ‘web stuff’ for some 15 years now. When working at my first place of business, I was ‘thrown in the deep end’ when the company webmaster essentially took off a day after I was assigned to intern in her division. It wasn’t necessarily a baptism by fire, but I had to learn and understand pretty quickly.

Ever since then, it’s been essentially self-learning in all aspects of work and life. Sometimes, it works out well, other times it’s been met by a closed door by elements who prefer ones with official qualifications for this and that.

Such is life.

The good thing is that I’ve been constantly learning new things, virtually non-stop. While it happens, getting into a rut has been a fairly rare occurrence. Mind you, I wouldn’t mind a few months uninterrupted time to try something new, out-of-the-box, follow-your-passion kinds of stuff, but alas, unless you’re either wealthy or at the very end of your rope, it’s a difficult task to consider.

Maybe one day.

Stick around, campers. The ride continues.
